An annual event outside London, bringing together travel media from across the UK & Ireland, with PR representatives of travel brands from all over the world.
In 2025, we are taking the event to Bradford, as part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture celebrations!!
Following a successful event in Glasgow, in June 2024, we’re looking forward to a great couple of days in Bradford in July 2025!
Hosted by Bradford Council and Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture, Media Getaway 2025 will give PR representatives of global travel brands the chance to get away with UK & Irish travel media for a 2-day event, with plenty of ways to meet through formal and informal networking opportunities.
The event will see media attending from all over the UK & Ireland, including people not usually encountered at London events.
About Bradford district
Bradford district is going to be UK City of Culture 2025 with a host of activities to engage communities and showcase to the culture of the district. There is no place like Bradford; the district has a number of unique areas which offer distinctive experiences whether you are a new visitor or returning to explore further.
You can walk in the footsteps of the Brontës in Haworth. Take an invigorating walk on Ilkley Moor ‘Bah’t at’. Spend a lazy Sunday with Hockney in the UNESCO world heritage village of Saltaire or take your seat for a West End show at the Alhambra Theatre.
And for architecture lovers there’s plenty of historic buildings to wander amongst in the city centre too, with areas like Little Germany, Hustlergate, and Sunbridge Wells providing all the neoclassical and Victorian neo gothic buildings you can want.
And when you’re ready for a bite to eat you can find some of the options in the district, from award-winning fine dining in Ilkley to over 200 authentic Asian restaurants throughout the area. Bradford has a fantastic reputation for curry and our Asian restaurants specialise in curries from Kashmir, Pakistan and India. If you’re looking for a traditional curry or something a little different, this curry guide will show you where to find some fantastic places to sample a bit of spiciness in Bradford.
Bradford is proud of its real ale offer and is home to many breweries. From Timothy Taylors and Wishbone Brewery in Keighley, to the unique Saltaire Brewery and Bingley Brewery. There are many great real ale pubs, some of which are situated in the district’s beautiful countryside. The Flying Duck in Ilkley, The Dog and Gun in Oxenhope and Haworth Old Hall just to name a few.
Whatever you choose, and you’ll find plenty of ideas and inspiration, you’re never far from a new experience!

As one of the biggest media companies in the UK, this is a great opportunity to spread the word about the event and utilise its connections to bring in more attendees from its titles which includes Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, MailOnline, Metro, i newspaper, inews.co.uk, New Scientist and The Telegraph (print products).
The Event
The event will commence on Monday 7th July 2025 with a welcome reception, hosted by the city of Bradford and its partners.
On 8th July, all delegates will take part in the CONNECTION ZONE, a media marketplace where travel companies sit at tables and host a series of 1-1 meetings with attending media, all of which are set up through a dedicated virtual platform created for the event.
This will be followed by a closing reception at a local venue in the city or surrounding district. Current ideas include a street party in a local village famous for its connection to the Bronte sisters.
On 9th July media will enjoy trips around Bradford and the district, hosted by some local companies. Some of these tours will also take place on Monday 7th and may be available for all attendees, if space is available.

Many of our attendees don’t attend events in London so there are plenty of connections to be made.

How much does it cost?
Each PR representative pays a delegate fee, which covers attendance, food and some beverages at the event. The fee also covers the costs of accommodation for attending media, ensuring more journalists are able to attend.
We agree a special rate at our partner hotels for anyone attending from outside the area.
Any media wishing to stay overnight receive complimentary accommodation at one of the event’s hotel partners.
